The ‘Rights, Resources and Resilience: Asia Pacific’ summit got underway yesterday, to deal with Asia’s HIV epidemic. The summit includes up to 300 health organisations and LGBT rights advocates.

New guidance for faith-based schools, challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying’ has been welcomed by activists. It states that bullying, defended by religious doctrine is unacceptable following Stonewall UK Report.

The English Premier League and Football League have agreed to a three-year collaboration with Stonewall UK to promote equality in football. Member clubs will work with the charity to encourage LGBT people to get involved in the sport in any capacity.

The APCOM Hero Awards took place Sunday, honouring individuals & organisations who work to further HIV awareness & enhance equality. Taiwan’s Chi Chia-Wei won Community Hero for leading a successful campaign in support of same-sex marriage.

And finally, a new documentary is to follow the lives of two transgender Israelis. The friendship between 55-year-old activist, Israela Lev and 22-year-old beauty queen, Talleen Abu Hanna, defies stereotypes and breaks social boundaries with filming starting next month.
