DC Entertainment’s bisexual character Harley Quinn is to get her own animated TV series next year. 26 half-hour episodes will also include Poison Ivy, who was her girlfriend in the DC Comics – but it’s not known how Quinn’s sexuality will be explored in the series.
A recent survey of healthcare professionals across 40 nations has revealed 20% are not comfortable treating LGBT patients. Christian medics showed the most opposition, while Hindu & Jehovah’s Witness was the least discriminatory of all practitioners who expressed a faith.
Australian transgender advocate Katherine Wolfgramme is suing 10 venues that host ‘Tranny Bingo’ nights, over the transphobic slur. Wolfgramme’s lawyers gave the venues until 22nd December to rename their events or face further action.
Rio de Janeiro Pride was held Sunday, despite the city cutting all funding for this year’s event. Local businesses stepped in to provide the money necessary, with thousands turning out to party on the beach.
And finally, 31 Lithuanian politicians have tabled a proposal for a total ban on legal gender change recognition and all gender confirmation surgeries. The proposal is in response to a draft gender recognition bill which has been before parliament since 2013.
